Abstract
Introduction: The selection of contraceptive devices or Family Planning (FP) is an action that helps married couples balance between needs and population growth using contraceptive methods. Contraception is an effort to prevent conception or the meeting of egg and sperm cells. Husband's knowledge and support in this case means the husband's involvement in determining which contraception will be used because contraceptive methods cannot be imposed; the couple must jointly choose the best method, cooperate in its use, finance the contraception, and be aware of warning signs. The husband's involvement can influence the wife's behavior as the husband plays an important role as the head of the family. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of husband's knowledge and support on the choice of contraceptive devices Methods: This research is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. Univariate analysis results for the knowledge variable showed a p-value of 0.500 (>0.05) and for the support variable, a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05).
